Our shop is at Number 6 in Bavdhan Gao, right near D Palace in Pune. It’s a small place where we keep the car keys and the registration forms. We spend most of our day out on the roads around Bavdhan teaching people how to drive. We have a couple of small hatchbacks that we use for the lessons. They aren't new cars, and they have plenty of scratches on the bumpers, but they work fine for beginners. Most of our students are nervous at first, especially when they have to drive through the narrow lanes of the village. We sit in the passenger seat with the extra brake pedal and guide them through it. We don't follow a strict corporate curriculum; we just teach based on what the student needs to learn that day. Sometimes we stop for a quick chai during the lesson if the student is doing well. We handle the RTO paperwork too, which can be a bit of a headache with all the queues and forms. It’s just me and a couple of other instructors. We try to be patient because we know how it feels to stall the engine in the middle of a busy intersection. The office itself is just a place to sign up and pay the fees. Most of the real work happens behind the wheel on the local streets of Pune. We've been operating out of this small shop for quite a few years and most people in Bavdhan know us by now.
