R J Engineering

You’ll find R J Engineering at number 9 in the Kruti Industrial Estate. We are right across from Sangam Press in Kothrud, which is a pretty well-known landmark for anyone around here. The estate is a busy little pocket of activity. There are always people loading trucks or moving palettes around in the common driveway. Our unit is packed with various pieces of engineering equipment. We do a lot of custom work, so the floor plan changes depending on what we are building that week. Kothrud has changed a lot since we first started, but the industrial estate still feels like the old part of town. We have a small office area tucked in the back, but it’s mostly used for storing drawings and old catalogs. The light isn't great in some corners, so we use a lot of portable lamps. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising. Usually, people just see our sign or get told about us by one of the other shops in the estate. We take our tea at the small stall near the main gate every afternoon. It’s a chance to catch up with the other guys working in the nearby units. Our work is mostly about precision and getting the specs right. It’s not flashy, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep at it, one job at a time, until the shutters go down for the evening.
