Pratima Silks

Pratima Silks is located on the ground floor of Rama Niwas. It is building number 1486, right near the White House on 10th Cross. If you are familiar with Sadashiv Peth, you know it can be a bit of a maze with all the small lanes and crossroads. We are on Horamavu Main Road, which gets quite crowded during the afternoons. We have been selling fabrics here for some time now. The shop isn't huge, but we try to keep a good variety on the shelves. Sometimes the rolls of silk get piled up high and it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for. That is just part of how we run things. We like being in this part of town because there is always something happening outside. People stop by after finishing their other errands nearby. We don't have a big staff, usually just a couple of us helping out. We try to keep the place tidy but with so much fabric moving around, it's a constant job. We aren't interested in being a big showroom or anything like that. We just want to provide what people need for their clothes and occasions. Being at the ground floor makes it easy for older folks to step in without worrying about stairs. We usually have the door open to let some air in when the weather is nice. It’s a plain shop for people who just want good material and honest talk about what they are buying.
