Prathmesh Watch & Music Centre

We have been sitting here near Alankar Bridge for quite a long time now. People around Otta Vasahat know the shop because of the clocks on the wall and the music stuff we keep. It is a small place on Kilari Road in Erandwane, right in the Karve Nagar area. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but we are used to it. We mostly spend our days fixing watches that stopped working or helping someone find a specific cassette or CD they wanted. It isn't a fancy showroom with glass walls and bright lights. It's just a regular shop where you can come in and talk. My desk is usually covered in tiny watch parts and tools. Sometimes the music playing in the background is just what we feel like hearing that day. The shelves are a bit crowded, but we know where everything is kept. If you are walking down the road from the bridge, you will see our sign. We keep the doors open so the breeze comes in, though it brings some dust too. Dealing with old watches takes patience, especially the ones with small gears that haven't moved in years. People stop by just to ask the time or see what new music came in. It’s a simple life here in Pune. We don't change things much around the shop because the old way works fine for us and the neighbors who visit.
