Pride Watch

If you find yourself in Budhwar Peth, you can look for us at Survey No 496. We are right across the street from Vasant Talkies, which makes us pretty easy to find. Pride Watch is a small shop, and we’ve filled every inch of it with clocks and wristwatches. The area is always crowded and noisy, especially when a movie lets out at the theater. We have been here for years, watching the neighborhood change while we stay mostly the same. My workbench is right by the front so I can get a bit of natural light for the delicate repair work. Sometimes the dust from the street is a bit much, but we keep the counters wiped down. We don't have a lot of fancy displays or neon signs. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to us since they were young. They bring in their father's old watches to get them cleaned or fixed up. We also sell some new pieces, but we prefer the older ones with stories behind them. It’s a lot of work to keep up with everything, but it keeps the mind sharp. We take a break for lunch around one and usually sit on the stools talking about the news. It’s just a regular local shop in a busy part of town. We don't try to compete with the big malls because we like being right here on the street.
