Our shop is located out in Bhosari, right where the roads for Alandi and Baner seem to meet. Pushpakar Watch House has been a part of this area for a long time. It’s a dusty part of town with all the construction and traffic, but we like it here. The shop is full of the sound of ticking clocks, which I find very peaceful even if other people think it’s a bit much. We have a lot of old glass cases that we’ve had since the day we opened. They are a bit scratched now, but they still hold the watches just fine. We handle everything from replacing a simple battery to fixing the mainspring on an old mechanical watch. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on tiny things, so we make sure to get up and stretch every hour. Sometimes the local kids come in just to see the big grandfather clock we keep in the corner. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Bhosari. We just want to be the place where you can get your watch fixed without any trouble. We know most of our customers by name, and we usually ask about their families while we work. It’s a very human way of doing business, I think. We don't have a computer for the records, just a big ledger where we write everything down by hand. It works for us.
