Parag General Stores

Parag General Stores is right in the middle of Pune City on the Main Road. Pune is a very busy place these days, and being on the main road means there is never a quiet moment. I have been working here for a long time, and I’ve seen the street change quite a bit. My shop is a typical general store where we sell things like toothpaste, notebooks, batteries, and some packaged food. It is quite a small space for the amount of stuff I try to keep in stock. I often have boxes stacked up in the corners because there just isn't enough shelf room. I spend my day standing behind the counter, serving whoever walks in. Sometimes it is students, other times it is office workers or people who live in the old buildings nearby. The air in 411002 is always full of the sound of horns and engines. I don't have a big staff, maybe just one person to help with the heavy lifting when new stock arrives. We don't do anything fancy like home delivery or online orders; people just come in, get what they need, and go. It’s a very practical way of doing things. I keep my ledger by hand and try to stay on top of the inventory. It's tiring work being on your feet all day, but it’s a living that I have built over time.
