Pal General Stores

Pal General Stores is situated at Sr No 427 in the Shivajinagar Gavthaon area. If you know where the Ganesh Mandir is, we are just a short walk from there, tucked right behind the Durga Cafe. This part of Pune is quite old and the lanes can be a bit narrow and confusing if you aren't used to them. Our store is a small, local spot that has been serving this particular neighborhood for quite some time. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just keeping the shelves filled with the things people use every day like grains, soaps, and snacks. The shop is usually pretty quiet in the afternoons, but things pick up when people are coming home from work or finishing up at the temple. It’s a simple life running a store in the Gavthaon. We know most of the families who live in the houses nearby. Sometimes the kids come in for a single chocolate or a pencil. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to show up. It’s a bit cluttered inside because we try to fit a lot of items into a small space. That’s just the way these old shops are. We like being part of the community here behind the cafe. It’s a steady, honest way to make a living in the city.
