Om Metals & Engineers

We’ve been at Survey No. 170 in the Dnyaneshwar Colony area for a while now. It’s inside the S. V. Engineering Compound here in Akurdi. Most days the shop is pretty busy with metal work and engineering jobs. We handle a lot of different things depending on what folks need when they walk through the door. It’s a messy place sometimes because we are always cutting or welding something. The guys here know their way around the machines. We aren't a big fancy office, just a workspace where things get done. You can usually find someone working late if there’s a rush on a project. People around Akurdi know where we are. We just focus on the metal parts and making sure the dimensions are right. Sometimes the machines act up but we fix them and keep going. It’s hard work but it pays the bills. If you come by, just look for the compound near the colony. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty on paper. Most of our time goes into the actual shop floor. We've seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years but we're still here doing the same kind of work. It’s noisy and dusty but that’s just how it is when you’re working with steel and iron. We keep the tools sharp and the floor mostly clear of scrap as much as we can manage. It works for us.
