Surya Fastner

You can find Surya Fastner at Number 99 in the Shivaji Market area on M G Road. It’s a central spot and usually pretty crowded, especially on the weekends. We deal with all kinds of fasteners—bolts, nuts, screws, you name it. Our shop is small and every inch of wall space is covered in little drawers and boxes. It’s a bit of a challenge to keep everything labeled correctly, but we manage somehow. We spend most of our time climbing ladders to reach the high shelves for customers. It’s a simple business. We don't have any big missions or fancy goals. We just want to make sure people get the right size screw for whatever they are building. Sometimes people come in with a rusty old bolt and ask us to match it, which can be a bit of a puzzle. We enjoy that part of the job, actually. The market can be noisy with all the vendors shouting, but we like being in the middle of it all. We’ve been part of M G Road for years now. We don't spend money on fancy displays or shiny signs. The shop looks like a workshop because that’s what it is. It’s a practical place for practical people. If you need something to hold things together, we are usually here from morning until the market closes up for the night. It’s just a lot of small parts and a lot of familiar faces stopping by to say hello.
