Oberoi Overseas Education has this branch office at Office No. 5 in Friends Paradises. It’s on Shirole Road, which is tucked away near J M Road and the Deccan Gymkhana area. It’s a great spot because we’re right opposite Sambhaji Park. Sometimes, when the office gets too crowded with students and parents, we just look out at the trees in the park to clear our heads. Being near Karve Road and Kothrud means there’s always a lot of students around. We spend our days talking about universities and looking at application forms. The office isn't very big, and we have to stack the folders pretty high to make everything fit. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two families come in at once, but we manage. We aren't some big global consultancy with hundreds of employees. We’re just a small team in a convenient location. The traffic on J M Road can be a real headache, so we usually suggest people take the back lanes to get to us. We don't have a polished sales pitch. We just tell the kids what we know and try to help them figure out their paperwork. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of typing. We like being in this part of Pune because there’s so much life and energy from the colleges nearby. It feels like we’re right in the middle of everything.
