We’ve been here at 727 Kasba Peth for a good while now. Most people find us because they’re passing Pawle Chowk and see the sign. It’s not a huge office, just a few rooms where we sit down with parents and students to talk about what they should do for college. Pune is full of schools, but Kasba Peth has its own rhythm, and we’re right in the middle of it. Some days it’s quiet, and other days we have three families waiting in the hallway. We don’t have fancy coffee machines or anything, just a water cooler and some plastic chairs. We spend most of our time looking at forms and checking dates for admissions. It’s a lot of paperwork, honestly. Sometimes the traffic outside Pawle Chowk gets really loud, especially in the evenings, but you get used to it. People stop by just to ask a quick question while they’re out doing their shopping. We try to keep things simple here. There’s no big sales pitch. We just look at the marks, see what the options are, and tell the kids what we think. It’s rewarding when someone comes back months later to say they got in. The office stays pretty dusty because of the road, so we’re always wiping down the desks. It’s just how it is working in this part of town. We keep our doors open and wait for the next person to walk in.
