Nrityakala Dance Academy

Our academy is based in Flat No B 2 of the Varsha Park Society on Baner Road. Since we are inside a residential society, it has a very quiet and local feel compared to other places. You have to go through the main gate and find the B wing to get to us. It’s a regular flat that we’ve converted into a dance space. It’s not like those big commercial studios you’d find in a mall or a high-rise. We have the main living room area cleared out for the practice floor. It’s cozy, which is nice in the winter months but it gets a bit warm in the summer. We have a couple of fans that stay on all day to keep the air moving. Most of the people who come here are neighbors or people from the surrounding parts of Baner. We know almost everyone by their first name. It’s a relaxed atmosphere for learning. We don’t have a formal front desk or any kind of uniform for the staff. We just wear what’s comfortable and get to work with the students. Sometimes the society members have meetings in the common area, or there’s a bit of noise from the kids playing outside, but we don't mind it. We’ve been here for quite some time now and it feels like home. Our schedule is pretty fixed, but we’re flexible if someone is running late because of the heavy traffic on Baner Road. We try to keep things simple and honest. No big promises, just a place to come and learn.
