Nitin Provision Stores

Running Nitin Provision Stores in Wagholi takes up most of my time. We are tucked away in Sector 1 on 27th Main and the morning rush for milk and bread usually starts around six. I spend a lot of my afternoon shifting heavy bags of rice and lentils around so they stay dry. The shelves are mostly full but sometimes the delivery from the city gets delayed and we have to wait a day or two. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it is hot outside in Wagholi. I know most of the people who live in Sector 1 by their first names or at least by what they usually buy every Tuesday. There is a lot of counting involved with the small change and making sure the jars of sweets are filled up for the kids. The light in the back of the store is a bit dim so I usually have to use a torch to find the bigger boxes. It is just a basic neighborhood store on 27th Main. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Just the things people need for their kitchens and a place to chat for a minute while I weigh out the sugar. The address is easy to find once you get into the main part of the sector. It is a quiet life behind the counter.
