Nitin Provision Stores

Nitin Provision Stores is located in Wagholi, on 27th Main in Sector 1. It’s a typical corner shop where we sell things like pulses, rice, soap, and snacks. I open up early in the morning, usually before most people are even awake, so I can get the milk deliveries sorted. The shelves are packed tight because we try to fit as much as possible into the space we have. It’s just me and a helper most days. We know the shopping habits of almost everyone on this street. We know who wants the specific brand of tea and who always forgets to buy sugar. The floor is made of old stone and it’s worn down in the spots where people stand to wait for their change. We don’t have any fancy barcode scanners; we just know the prices or look at the labels. It gets dusty because of the construction happening down the road, so I spend a lot of time with a duster in my hand. It’s a simple life. We listen to the radio behind the counter and chat with the customers about the weather or the local news. Sometimes kids come in after school for candy, and that’s always a bit loud. We stay open until late evening so people can grab what they forgot on their way home from work. It’s just a neighborhood store for the people living in Sector 1.
