New Wood Furniture

We set up our workshop in Mitha Nagar, specifically over in Kondwa Khurd. Our place is in Lane Number 2, right across from Umar Masjid. It is a wood furniture shop, so there is sawdust covering the floor most of the time. You can probably smell the fresh wood and the polish before you even see our sign on the wall. We make tables, chairs, cupboards, and whatever else the local people ask us to build for them. We use a lot of different types of wood depending on what is available at the timber yard. It is a very hands-on job. My hands are usually covered in some kind of wood stain or glue by the end of the day. We have a couple of large saws that make a lot of noise while we are working. Sometimes we stay late into the night when we have a big order for a new house nearby. The space isn’t very big, so we have to move finished furniture out quickly to make room to start the next project. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to watch us work for a bit. It is a simple setup with no fancy showroom or bright lights. Just the workshop floor where the actual making happens every day. Sometimes the wood arrives with knots and we have to work around them. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
