Being in Sangavi, we start our day very early, usually while everyone else is still sleeping. Morya Dudh Dairy is a simple spot. We get the milk delivered in the dark, and then the work of measuring and pouring begins. The floor is always a bit wet because we wash the cans and the tiles so often. You can smell the fresh milk and the curd setting in the back. We have large steel containers and a small fridge for the butter and paneer. People from the nearby houses come in with their steel pots. They like to chat for a minute about the weather or the local news while I fill their containers. I’ve known some of these families for years. We don't have any flashy posters or big neon signs. It’s just the name on the board outside. Sometimes the milk delivery is late because of a truck breakdown, and I have to explain that to the waiting line. It’s a bit stressful then, but people are mostly patient. We try to keep everything clean, but it’s a working dairy, so there’s always a bit of a mess with the empty crates. We work seven days a week because cows don't take holidays. It’s tiring, but it’s what we do. Sangavi is a nice area, and we are happy to be tucked away here doing our bit every morning and evening. We just focus on getting the daily supply ready for the neighbors.
