Mohan Ice Cream is tucked away in Raviwar Peth, Someshwarwadi 702. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded and tight the lanes can be, especially on market days when everyone is out. Our shop is just a tiny little hole in the wall, really. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just the basic equipment needed to keep everything cold and ready to go. The counter is quite high, and I sometimes think we should have built it lower, but it’s been that way for over twenty years so there’s no point changing it now. We get a lot of kids from the nearby school who come in with their pocket money, and that's usually the loudest and most energetic part of our day. The rest of the time, it’s just the sound of the ceiling fan whirring overhead while we wait. We don't do anything special for holidays or have big sales; we just sell what we have until the containers are empty. Sometimes we run out of the popular flavors by evening, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow morning. It’s a bit of a slow-paced life, which suits us just fine. The floor is made of old stone that stays surprisingly cool even when it’s boiling outside. We aren't looking to become some big chain or anything. We just like being the local ice cream spot where people get something simple without any trouble or wait.
