Metalart Furniture

We are based at S No 1160 in the Bhaskar Apartment building, right at Hatti Ganpati Chowk in Sadashiv Peth. It’s a very traditional part of the city, and we feel right at home here. We make furniture, mostly using metal, which involves a lot of welding and polishing. The workshop can get pretty dusty and the smell of cut metal is always in the air. We don’t have a fancy showroom; people usually just see the pieces as we are working on them or once they are finished and waiting to go out. Every piece we make is a bit different because we do a lot of it by hand. Sometimes the designs are complicated and take us longer than we expected, but we don't like to rush things. We have a few old benches where we sit and talk about the day's plans over some hot chai. Sadashiv Peth is always crowded, especially during festivals, so getting materials delivered can be a bit of a challenge. We’ve learned to work around the narrow streets and the busy crowds. Our neighbors are mostly other small businesses, so there’s a good sense of community around the Chowk. We just enjoy the process of turning raw metal into something useful that people can have in their homes. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from morning till night, and we’re happy to be doing it here.
