Maruti Vegetable

We’ve been here in Viman Nagar for a while now. Most people know us as Maruti Vegetable. It’s just a small spot where we keep everything fresh. Every morning the crates arrive and we spend time sorting through the greens. It gets busy around the time people come back from work. We just put out what we have. Sometimes the spinach is really good, other days the tomatoes look better. We try to keep the place organized but it’s a vegetable shop, so there’s always a bit of a mess with the leaves and stuff. We know most of the people who live nearby. They stop by for a bunch of coriander or some chilies. It’s not a fancy place at all. Just some racks and the weighing scale. We focus on getting things done. If you walk past Viman Nagar, you’ll see us right there. There isn't much to say except we sell what grows in the fields. Some days are slow and we just sit and wait. Other days we don't even have time to drink tea. That is just how it goes here. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything is in its place. The weather affects what we have. If it rains, things change. We stay here until the last customer leaves. It’s simple work but we keep at it every day. We don't mind the long hours much.
