We are based at 892 Shukrawar Peth in the Uma-Shankar Apartment building. If you’re looking for us, we’re up on the 4th floor in Flat No. 7. It’s right near the Punch Mukhi Maruti Mandir, which is a big landmark in this part of Pune. Being in Shukrawar Peth means we are right in the heart of the old city area. The lanes around here are very narrow and always crowded with people and bikes, so it takes some skill just to navigate your way to the building entrance. There isn’t an elevator that works all the time, so we often end up walking up those four floors, which is a bit of a workout. The flat has been converted into an office space where we handle different development projects under the name Mahindra Gesco Developers Ltd. It’s a bit cramped with all the files and drawing boards, but we make it work for us. The view from the 4th floor window lets us see the tops of the other buildings and the temple nearby. We can hear the temple bells in the morning and evening during the prayers. It’s a very traditional part of town, very different from the new glass buildings they are putting up in other areas. We mostly spend our time on site visits or sitting here going through various government permits and floor plans. It’s busy work, and there’s always someone coming in with a question about a project. We usually wrap up late.
