Mahesh Driving School

We started Mahesh Driving School here in Dhankawadi because we saw how many people struggle with the busy roads around Pune. It isn't easy to learn how to handle a clutch when the traffic is backing up, so we try to be patient with everyone who comes in. Our office is right here in the 411043 area, and mostly we are out on the road from early morning until the sun goes down. We have a few cars that we use for the lessons. They aren't brand new, but they work well and the brakes are solid, which is the main thing you need when you are just starting out. Some people come to us very nervous, shaking a little when they sit in the driver's seat for the first time. We just talk them through it. It takes time to get the hang of the gears and the mirrors. Pune roads can be a bit chaotic, so we spend a lot of time practicing in the quieter lanes before heading out to the main junctions. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a place where you can sign up and get your classes scheduled. Most of our days are spent sitting in the passenger side, watching the road and making sure the students don't stall in the middle of a turn. It’s honest work and we like seeing someone finally get their license. It feels good to know we helped someone get mobile in such a busy city.
