Mahaveer Ice Cream

We have been here at Mangalwar Peth 291 for quite a while now. Running Mahaveer Ice Cream is just what we do every day. It gets busy in the afternoons when the sun is really out and people just want something cold to eat. We spend a lot of our time making sure the freezers are running right because if they stop, we are in big trouble. It is a simple spot. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky from spills, but we try to keep up with it as best as we can. People come in, look at the different flavors, and grab what they like. There is not much to it besides that. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. It feels good when someone brings their kids in after school for a treat. We do not have fancy seats or anything like that, just a place to get your ice cream and maybe stand outside for a bit while you eat. My hands are usually cold from handling the containers all day. It is hard work, especially during the summer months when everyone is thirsty and tired. We just keep the lights on and the scoops moving. Mangalwar Peth is a busy area, so there is always a lot of noise outside from the traffic. We just stay focused on what is inside the shop. It is not a big operation, just us and the ice cream. We have seen the street change over the years, but 291 is still where we are. It is just a normal life.
