Maharashtra God Daniwale

Our shop, Maharashtra God Daniwale, is located at Navi Peth 47. If you know this part of town, you know it’s got a bit of an old feel to it. We deal with jaggery and other items like that. It’s heavy work, moving those blocks and sacks around. The shop itself is quite modest. We don't have bright lights or big signs. Mostly, it’s just shelves and the smell of the goods we sell. I’ve been sitting at this counter for years. You see the same faces coming in from the surrounding lanes of Navi Peth. People here like things done the traditional way. We don't try to be something we aren't. It’s just a honest trade. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit muddy, or the summer heat gets trapped inside, but we stay open regardless. Dealing with suppliers is a big part of the day. Checking the quality of what comes in at number 47 is important because our customers expect a certain thing from us. It isn't a fast-paced environment. Things move at their own speed here. We talk to the people who come in, maybe discuss the weather or the local news while we weigh out their order. It feels like a community. We are just a small part of the daily life in this neighborhood. We don't plan on changing much, as the current way of doing things seems to work just fine for everyone.
