Madhura Dairy & Sweets

Our shop, Madhura Dairy & Sweets, is just outside the Raipur Gate in Rajguru Nagar. It’s a busy spot because of the gate. We get the milk delivery very early, usually when it’s still dark out. We have to move the heavy cans inside before the traffic starts picking up. The shop is a bit old, and the floor is a bit uneven in places, but it serves its purpose. We spend the morning boiling milk and setting it for curd or making basic sweets. There is always steam in the air from the big vats. We don't have a lot of space for customers to hang around, so they usually just buy what they need and go. The shelves are mostly filled with dairy products and a few rows of sweets. We try to keep the flies away, which is a constant battle in this heat. The Raipur Gate area has a lot of dust, so we are always dusting the glass jars. It’s hard work and it doesn't pay a lot, but it keeps us busy. My uncle started this place, and we just keep doing what he did. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything like that. We just want to make sure the milk doesn't spoil and the sweets are made right. At the end of the day, we wash the floors, lock the gate, and go home to rest.
