Laxmi Varieties

I’ve been at Katraj for a long time now. People around here know the shop as Laxmi Varieties. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep a bit of everything you might need during the day. When I first started out, Katraj looked a lot different than it does now. There’s more traffic these days and people are always in a rush. I open up early because that’s when the neighborhood starts moving. You get used to the routine of arranging things on the shelves and checking what’s running low. Some days it’s quiet and I just sit and watch the street, but other times it gets really busy with everyone coming in at once. I don’t try to make it look like a big supermarket or anything like that. It’s just a local spot. If you’re passing by this part of town, you’ll see us right there. We try to keep the stuff people ask for most. Sometimes I forget to order something and then I have to tell a regular customer to come back tomorrow. That’s just how it goes when you run a small place by yourself mostly. There isn't much to say except we've been here and we keep doing what we do. It’s a simple life at Laxmi Varieties. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint but it works for us. Most people who live nearby know the way.
