Kwality Wall Swirls

At Kwality Wall Swirls in Kalyani Nagar, things are usually pretty cheerful. It is mostly families who come in, especially after dinner or on those really hot Sunday afternoons. I spend most of my shift behind the machine making those swirls. It takes a bit of practice to get the shape right without it leaning too much to one side. We have different toppings like those little chocolate chips or some syrup. Sometimes the machine acts up and we have to wait a bit to fix it, which makes the kids impatient. The shop isn't very large, so when five or six people come in at once, it feels crowded. We try to keep the floors wiped because ice cream drips are always happening. I remember one time a kid dropped a huge cone right after I handed it over, and we had to clean up a big pink puddle. We just gave him another one. It’s not a fancy job, but seeing people happy with a cold treat is okay. Kalyani Nagar is a nice area, quite green compared to other parts of the city. We get some regulars who come every week without fail. I know their usual orders by heart now. It’s a simple setup with a counter and a few posters on the walls. Nothing too special, just a place to get something cold. The bright lights inside the shop make it stand out once the sun goes down in the evening.
