Krishna Lassi & Ice Cream Parlour has been here in Hadapsar for a while now. We started off mainly with lassi because that’s what my father knew how to make best. He taught me how to get the thickness just right without it being too sweet. Later on, we added the ice cream cabinets because the younger crowd kept asking for it. The shop is right on a busy stretch, so it gets dusty, and we are constantly wiping down the tables. It’s not a fancy lounge or anything like that. We have some plastic stools and a big mirror on the wall that's been there since we opened. In the afternoons when the sun is hitting the front of the shop, it gets pretty warm, so we keep the fans going at full speed. People come in for a quick tall glass of lassi, drink it fast, and head back to work. We make the curd ourselves in the back room every day. It’s a lot of heavy lifting with the milk cans every morning. Some days are slow, especially when it rains, but we usually have a steady flow of regulars. We don't use any of those pre-packaged mixes for the lassi, just the old-fashioned way. It takes more work, but you can tell the difference. We’re just a regular family-run shop trying to make a living in Hadapsar. Nothing more to it than that, really.
