Khatri Bandhu Pot Ice Cream

Our ice cream shop, Khatri Bandhu Pot Ice Cream, is located in Karve Nagar at 37/40. We have been making ice cream in pots for a long time. It’s a traditional way of doing it and it takes a lot of work. We spend a lot of time churning and making sure the ice and salt are just right. The shop is small and has a few benches for people to sit on. In the summer, it gets very crowded and we can barely keep up. We use a lot of milk and fruit every day. Our hands are usually cold from handling the containers. We don't use big industrial machines for everything. A lot of it is still done by hand because that’s how we learned. The floor can get a bit sticky when we are busy, so we have to wash it down every night. We don't have a fancy menu with a hundred flavors. We just stick to the ones we know how to make well. People from all over Karve Nagar come by in the evenings. It’s a nice atmosphere when the sun goes down and it cools off a bit. Sometimes we run out of a certain flavor before the night is over. We just tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a family-run kind of place and we don't plan on changing that. We just like making ice cream. It's how we've always done things.
