Kate Doodh Dairy

Kate Doodh Dairy is tucked away in the Kate Wasti area of Pimple Saudagar, near the G.I.D.C Estate in Makapura. My family has been involved with milk for as long as I can remember. The day starts while it’s still dark outside because the milk doesn't wait for anyone. We receive the cans early, and from there, it’s a lot of cleaning, pouring, and making sure everything is handled right. The shop isn't much to look at, just a counter and some refrigerators, but it serves the purpose. Pimple Saudagar has changed a lot lately with all the new buildings, but our little corner feels mostly the same. We see the same regulars every morning coming in with their steel containers. Sometimes we have extra curd or some paneer if the milk was plenty that day. It’s a steady kind of life, even if we never really get a day off. Cows and buffaloes don't stop producing milk just because it’s a holiday. My nephew helps me out with the deliveries around the Sangavi area when the weather is okay. We don't bother with big advertisements or anything like that. People know where we are, and they know what we have. It’s just about getting fresh dairy to the neighbors without any fuss. It’s honest work, and it keeps us connected to the ground. We just keep the lights on and the milk cold.
