Kailash Giri Moter Driving School is found on the Pune Solapur Road, right by the New Timber Market. Being near the timber market means there is always a strong smell of fresh wood in the air, which is actually quite nice. However, the road is also very busy with heavy trucks carrying logs and planks, so teaching someone to drive here requires a lot of patience. Our office is just a basic room where we sit and fill out forms for the RTO. We have a few cars parked out front, and they are out on the road from early morning until late in the evening. The traffic on the Pune Solapur Road can be a nightmare during rush hour, so we often take the students into the smaller lanes behind the market first to practice their steering. We have been doing this for years and we know all the local traffic police and the other shop owners in the area. Our chairs in the waiting area are a bit worn out, but they are comfortable enough for a quick sit. We do not do any big advertising. Usually, someone’s father or brother learned here, so they bring the younger ones to us when it is their turn. It is just a regular local business where we show up, do our work, and go home to our families at the end of the day.
