Jhulelal Ice Cream

You can find us over in Pimpri Colony at number 323. We’ve been scooping ice cream for the neighborhood families for quite a while now. It started as a small idea because kids around here always wanted something cold during the hot afternoons. Now we have grown a bit, but it still feels like the same old shop. We have the usual flavors like vanilla and chocolate, but people also ask for the fruit ones we make. The freezer hums all day long and sometimes it’s the only sound in the shop when it’s quiet. On weekends, the whole street seems to end up here. We see kids grow up from being toddlers to teenagers coming in with their friends. It makes you feel a bit old but it’s nice. We don't use any fancy machines, just the stuff that works. Sometimes we run out of the popular flavors by evening and people get a bit disappointed, so we try to guess better the next day. The lights inside are a bit bright but it helps people see the menu clearly. There’s usually a bit of sticky ice cream on the counter that needs cleaning. We don’t have a lot of space to sit, so most people just stand outside on the pavement and talk while they eat. It’s a simple business and we like being part of the Pimpri community.
