Hubert S Drawing Institute

We are over at Camp 455. It’s where the Hubert S Drawing Institute is based. It is a simple place for people who want to learn how to draw or just practice their art. We have a lot of paper and pencils and charcoal lying around everywhere. The tables are usually covered in sketches and marks from where people have been working. It isn't a fancy gallery or anything like that. It is just a room where people can come and be creative without any pressure. We have been at the Camp for a while now. The lighting is okay during the day because of the big windows but we have some extra lamps for when it gets darker or when the clouds come over. We don't have a big mission statement or any of that stuff. We just think it is good for people to draw and see what they can make. Sometimes it is quiet and everyone is focused and other times there is a lot of talking and sharing ideas. We don't have a receptionist or anything. You just come in and find a spot to sit. The floors are a bit worn down from all the feet moving around but it makes the place feel lived in. We like that it feels like a real workshop rather than a stiff school. It is just a place for art and we keep it as simple as that. People seem to like it.
