Hotel Yogi

Hotel Yogi is situated right by the Shreeji industrial Estate in Thathawade. It’s a busy place because of all the factories around here. You can hear the trucks shifting gears all day long. We started this place because there weren't many spots for people to sit down in this area. The building is simple, just concrete and some blue paint on the doors. Inside, we have rows of tables that we scrub down every night. The floor is made of that old grey stone that stays cool even when it is hot outside. We get a lot of workers coming in for their breaks. They usually look tired and just want a place to sit for thirty minutes. We keep the fans running at full speed because the machines next door make the air feel heavy. There is a small counter at the front where I sit and handle the bills. Most of the time, I’m just looking out at the gate of the industrial park. We don't have any decorations to speak of. It’s a practical place for practical people. My brother handles the kitchen and I do everything else. We buy our vegetables from the market early in the morning before the sun comes up. It is a lot of work to keep the place running but we are used to the routine by now. The tea is always hot and the water is cold. That’s all most people ask for when they walk in.
