Hotel Uttranchal

Hotel Uttranchal is tucked away in Shop No 8 of the Mhada Complex on Alandi Road. It isn't a huge place, just a few tables and a kitchen that stays busy from morning until late at night. We started this because we wanted to bring a bit of the flavors from back home to Chinchwad. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend most of our time focusing on the cooking instead. It gets pretty hot in the kitchen during the summer months, but we’re used to it by now. People usually find us by word of mouth or if they live in the complex nearby. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. We just open the shutters every day and start the stove. Sometimes we run out of ingredients if the delivery is late, and we just have to make do with what we have. It’s a humble operation, run by just a few of us who care about what we put on the plate. We see a lot of students and workers coming in because the prices are fair and the portions fill you up. Alandi Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of dust and noise outside, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit quieter. We just keep doing our thing, one day at a time, hoping people enjoy the food. It is hard work but we are used to it.
