Hotel Urmila

Hotel Urmila is tucked away near the 3rd Cross in Billekahalli Layout, just off the Pune Satara Road. It’s more of a small eatery than what most people think of when they hear the word hotel. We serve regular meals to a lot of the workers and drivers who pass through this area. The kitchen is always loud with the sound of clinking plates and the stove going. We don't have a big menu, just a few things we can cook well and serve fast. Most of the time, the place is full of people who just want a quick lunch that tastes like home. We’ve been here for a good bit now, and the building is starting to show its age, but it’s sturdy. I spend most of my time managing the orders and making sure the supplies come in on time. Sometimes the vegetable delivery is late, and we have to scramble to change what's for lunch. It’s a bit stressful, but we make it work. The staff is just a few local guys who’ve been with me for years. We aren't trying to win any awards or anything. We just want to make sure people leave with a full stomach and don't have to spend too much money. It’s a simple operation on a busy corner of the layout. If you're looking for white tablecloths, this isn't the place. It's just good, basic food for everyday people.
