Hotel Shreyas

You can find us at Hotel Shreyas over on Apte Road. This part of Deccan Gymkhana is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it at 1242 / B. My family has been around here for years. The hotel is not anything like those new glass buildings you see popping up everywhere nowadays. It feels more like an old house that just kept growing over time. We have a few floors and the stairs are a bit narrow in some places. People come here because they know the area well or they have been staying with us since they were kids. We serve food too, mostly stuff we like to eat ourselves. It is simple meals, nothing that requires a menu you cannot read. I usually sit near the entrance in the afternoons when the sun hits the street. We get a lot of regulars who stop by just to say hello even if they are not staying the night. The rooms are basic. We have beds, some desks, and windows that look out over the neighborhood. Sometimes the noise from the street comes in, but that is just Pune for you. We do not try to be something we are not. It is just a place to sleep and maybe have a bite of breakfast before heading out to do whatever you need to do in the city. We keep things honest and just try to be helpful when someone asks for directions or a taxi.
