Hotel Shivadatta

We are located right on the Sinhagad Road Main Road at Sr no. 45/10/1. It’s a busy spot because of all the cars and bikes constantly zooming past the front door. The noise from the traffic never really stops until very late at night. Inside the hotel, it’s mostly about getting the plates out to the tables as fast as the kitchen can make them. We have some heavy wooden tables that have been here since the start. They are a bit scratched up now but they do the job just fine. I spend most of my day near the cash box or helping to clear off the tables when the rush starts around one o'clock. The kitchen staff is always shouting orders back and forth over the sound of the exhaust fans. It gets really hot back there. We serve a lot of people who are just passing through on their way to other parts of the city. We don't have a menu that's too long, just the things we know how to make well every day. Sometimes we run out of the specials by mid-afternoon and people have to pick something else. Washing all the steel plates at the end of the shift is the hardest part. My back usually aches by the time I lock the front door and start walking home. But tomorrow is another day and we do it all over again, making sure everything is ready for the morning tea crowd.
