Hotel Renuka

We are located at the Ashoka Centre on Radha Krishna Cross Road. Our place, Hotel Renuka, has been around for quite a bit. It is more of a boarding house and a small eatery than a proper hotel. We have some rooms for people who are passing through and need a cheap place to sleep. They are basic rooms with a bed, a small table, and a fan. We spend most of our time in the kitchen downstairs. We make simple thalis for lunch and dinner. It is the kind of food we eat at home—dal, rice, and whatever vegetable was fresh at the market that morning. We don't have a printed menu because it changes based on what we buy. The tables are made of heavy wood and the chairs don't always match. We like it that way. My wife does the seasoning and I help with the heavy lifting and the guest registry. Radha Krishna Cross Road is always noisy with bikes and cars, but inside the building it is a bit quieter. Sometimes the light in the hallway flickers, and we have to go up and jiggle the bulb. It’s an old building, so it has its quirks. We don't have any fancy signs or advertisements.
