Hotel Gagangiri

Hotel Gagangiri is located at number 8 in the Navsahyadri area. It is a quiet residential part of the city for the most part, which makes our spot feel a bit like a neighborhood fixture. Even though we call it a hotel, it is mostly about the food and the people who come in to eat. We have been at this address for quite a while. The building isn't new, but it is solid and we keep it as tidy as we can. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing the daily meals. Navsahyadri is a nice place to work because people are generally friendly and things aren't as rushed as they are in the city center. We open up early and don't close until late evening. It is a long day, but we have a rhythm to it. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks or try to be something we are not. We are just a local hotel serving the community. The street outside has some nice trees and it's a good place to sit for a bit. We just try to do a decent job every day and keep the customers satisfied. There is always cleaning to be done or supplies to be ordered. It's a steady life. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we have to sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. That’s just life in Pune sometimes. We don't mind it too much, it gives us a break from the kitchen heat. We just keep things moving at number 8.
