Hotel Chaupati

Hotel Chaupati is out in the Chinchwad Walhekarwadi area. It is a basic place to eat, really more of a roadside stop than what most people think of when they hear the word hotel. We have benches and tables that are pretty sturdy. The menu is simple and focuses on the kind of food people want when they are hungry and in a hurry. We open early to get things ready for the lunch crowd. The kitchen gets very hot during the middle of the day, so we usually have the back door open to get a breeze. There is always a lot of steam and the smell of cooking in the air. We do not have fancy decorations on the walls, just a few calendars and maybe a clock that is a few minutes fast. The ground around the shop is mostly dirt, so it gets a bit muddy when it rains. We have a few regular drivers who stop by every single day on their route. We know what they want without asking. It is a lot of work to keep things running, especially with the cleaning and the prep work every morning. We do not use any fancy machines, just standard pots and stoves. It is just a plain spot to get a meal and sit down for a minute before heading back out on the road. We stay open until the food runs out or it gets too late.
