Hotel Ambar

You can find Hotel Ambar at Aundh 18. It’s been here for a long time, and the neighborhood has grown up all around it. We are just a local place where folks come for a meal without having to dress up or spend a lot of money. The dining room has simple wooden tables and the walls are mostly plain without any art. We don't spend a lot on decorations when the focus should be on the stove and the food. Our cooks have their own way of doing things, and they don't like being told to change their recipes. It’s mostly traditional food that you’d find in any home around here. We get a mix of people—office workers during the day and families in the evening. It’s often noisy with the sound of clinking plates and people talking over each other. We don't have a website or any social media pages. If you want to know what we're serving, you just have to come in and look at the board by the entrance. Sometimes the service is a bit rushed because we have more people than seats, but we try to get everyone fed. It’s a bit of a humble operation, really. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The floors are swept often, and the tea is always hot. It’s just a normal part of the Aundh community, and we plan to stay here for a while. We keep the doors open every day.
