Hari Om Motar Driving School

Our school is in the Haweli Complex on Kalewadi Road. This is the Thergaon area of Pune, which has grown a lot lately. We have the office inside the complex where we handle all the registration and the theory side of things. Most of our day is spent out in the cars though. Driving around Thergaon means dealing with a lot of different road conditions. We have students who are very young and some who are older and finally decided they need to learn. It is a mix of people. The cars are well-used and we keep them running as best as we can. I’m usually the one coordinating the timings so nobody has to wait too long. The office has a desk, some old files, and a few chairs that have seen better days. It is not a place for luxury, just for learning. We talk a lot about safety and how to handle the traffic on Kalewadi Road. It can be stressful for a beginner when a big bus goes past, so we try to stay calm. The complex has other shops too, so there is always people coming and going. Sometimes we grab a snack from the local vendor while waiting for the next student. It’s a straightforward life here, just teaching people how to use the clutch and brake without panicking. We stay until late evening to accommodate the office workers who can only come after five.
