Haagen Dazs

Working at Haagen Dazs in Amanora Town Centre is a bit different from a street-side shop. We are at Shop No 16, and the mall air conditioning is always humming in the background. Most of our time is spent keeping the glass counters clean because kids are always putting their sticky hands on them. We have these big freezers full of tubs, and we have to make sure the temperature is just right so the scoops come out smooth. It gets very busy on the weekends when families are out for a movie or shopping. We see a lot of people just walking past, looking at the flavors and trying to decide. Sometimes the line gets long, and people get a bit impatient, but we just keep scooping as fast as we can. It’s a bright, clean space, but behind the counter, it’s mostly us washing spoons and checking the inventory. We don't have much room in the back, so we have to stay organized. The mall security guards often stop by for a chat, and we know the staff at the other shops nearby. It’s a lot of standing on our feet all day, but seeing someone's face light up when they get their favorite flavor makes it okay. It’s just a regular ice cream shop in a big mall, trying to keep things cold and tidy for everyone who visits Hadapsar.
