Gramotkarsha Pashu Krushi Vikas Foundation

We are located in the Sai Aangan building over in the Ambegaon Khurd area of Pune. Our office is flat C-502. It’s a residential spot, but we use it to run the foundation. We’re mostly concerned with how people in the villages are doing with their animals and crops. A lot of folks come by to talk about farming problems or how to get better yields. It’s not a formal place. You’ll usually find a few of us sitting around with tea, looking over papers or talking to visitors. Pune has grown so much, but we still care about the rural parts on the edges. We aren't a big NGO with lots of funding. We’re just a small group of people who know about agriculture and livestock development. Sometimes the lift in the building doesn't work, so we have to walk up to the fifth floor. It’s a bit of a climb. We spend a lot of time visiting sites outside the city too. It's important to see things with your own eyes. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just try to be useful when someone has a sick cow or a field that isn't growing right. It's just everyday work for us. Nothing fancy about it. We just want to see the local farmers do a bit better for themselves. We're just trying to help the community in our own small way.
