Our office is tucked into the ground floor of Highway Tower, right there on the busy Pune-Mumbai Road in Chinchwad. It’s Office No. 27, and you can’t miss it if you’re looking for the place with the most boots parked by the door. Being on the ground floor is handy because people are always coming in and out with heavy folders or samples of materials. The constant hum of the highway is something we don’t even notice anymore, though it makes the windows rattle a bit when the big trucks go past. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and a lot of tall metal filing cabinets that have been here since we opened. We don’t have fancy lighting or expensive rugs. It’s a practical space for people who spend their days thinking about bricks and mortar. There’s usually a pot of tea going, and the air smells faintly of old paper and the dust that drifts in from the road. We’ve worked on a lot of different projects from this little room, and the walls are covered in scribbled notes and phone numbers. It’s not the quietest place in the world to work, but it’s right in the middle of everything, which is how we like it. We keep things simple here and focus on getting the day's tasks finished so we can go home. There is always someone here if you need to talk.
