It’s quite close to D.Y College, so there are always students walking around. We deal with crane parts and fixing things that break down. It’s greasy work, honestly. Most days our hands are covered in oil. The shop isn't fancy at all. We have shelves full of spares and old parts. People bring their equipment here when they have trouble. We’ve been in Chikli for some time now. The neighborhood is mostly residential but we fit in okay. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the heavy machinery parts being moved around. We don’t have a big team, just a few guys who know their way around an engine. We don’t spend money on marketing. People just tell their friends about us when their cranes stop working. It’s a practical business. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The college kids sometimes stare at the big metal parts outside. We keep things simple and just focus on the repairs. If you need a specific spare, we might have it tucked away in a corner somewhere. We try to keep the shop organized, but it’s hard with all that iron. That’s just life at Raj Housing Society for us. It’s a long day usually but we get the job done and go home.
