Gautam Engineering Works

You can find Gautam Engineering Works out in Pirangut, at Daulat Nagar 2. It’s a bit of a journey to get out here if you are coming from the main city, but this is where all the industrial work happens. We have a decent-sized space where we do welding and some structural steel work. The air out here is a bit clearer than in town, but inside the shop, it’s all smoke and the smell of burnt metal. We have a small team of workers who have been with us since we moved to this location. The floor is concrete and always has some scrap pieces lying around that we need to sort through. We start the machines around eight in the morning and keep going until the sun starts to set. There isn't much around here in the way of shops, so we all bring our lunch boxes and eat together in the small office area. It’s a simple setup with a couple of desks covered in drawings and oily fingerprints. We don’t really do anything besides engineering work. We aren't salesman, we are just people who know how to handle steel and make things that last. Sometimes a client will come by to check on their order, but mostly we are left to our own devices. It’s steady work and we like the routine of it all.
