Fruits And Vegetable is over in Chinchwad, specifically at Mandvi Pole Sr No-13, E-1-13, within the Mahatma Phule Smarak Housing Society. This is up in the Apper Dhankawadi area, which is a bit of a climb if you are walking. We have crates of all kinds of produce stacked up every morning. It’s a lot of lifting and moving heavy boxes around before the sun gets too high. We get the stuff from the main markets and then bring it here for the people living in the housing society. It’s a very local thing; we know which neighbors like the smaller onions or the riper tomatoes. The area is mostly residential, so it's quiet in the afternoons but gets very busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from their jobs. We spend a lot of time sorting through the greens and making sure the bad ones are tossed out so they don't spoil the rest of the stock. The shop is basically just an open space with shelves and some scales for weighing everything. We don't have fancy misting machines or anything, just the usual way of selling vegetables. Sometimes we run out of things quickly if the delivery was small, and other times we have too much left over. It’s just the way it goes with fresh food. We are just here every day, weighing bags and talking to the regulars from the housing society.
