Down in Karpe Wasti, in Shirur, we have got our little setup for Friends Of Farmers Milk N Products Llp. It is out in Nimgaon Mahalungi, which is a bit of a drive if you are not used to the Pune roads, but we like it here. The milk business keeps us on our toes because cows do not really take days off. We are located at Milkat No. 1355, and it is a pretty practical place for what we do. There is usually a lot of noise from the equipment or the trucks coming in and out. It gets quite dusty on the road during the summer months, but that is just part of living in this part of Maharashtra. We are not some big city corporate office with people in suits. Most of us are wearing boots and just trying to keep the milk moving. It’s hard work, and sometimes things go wrong, like a machine breaking or the weather turning bad. We just deal with it as it comes. The people around here in Shirur know us well enough. We spent a lot of time setting this up at Milkat No. 1355 because we wanted to be close to where the actual work happens. It is not always pretty, and the hours are long, but there is something good about working with dairy and seeing the products go out every day. That is pretty much our life out here.
